In addition to the Christian fellowship that occurs in the various Discipleship areas of our church, there are several fellowship events that occur during each year. These events provide opportunities for all ages to share talents and interests and deepen relationships while enjoying each others' company.

Of course, sharing a meal is always a great means for fellowship. Several times during the year, church-wide breakfasts are provided before Sunday School. These are always well attended and thoroughly enjoyed.

Chili Cook-off

In the winter, chili "specialists" are encouraged to bring a sample of their favorite recipe for some friendly and delicious competition. A panel of judges selects the best chili concoction. As soon as the judging is complete, everyone gets in on the tasting.

Music Mix

Every few months, our Minister of Music, Linda Denney, hosts an evening of sacred group, ensemble, and solo musical offerings, both instrumental and vocal. All ages are encouraged to participate. Children are always a favorite. Both traditional and contemporary music are welcomed.

Easter Egg Hunt

A few days before Easter Sunday, children are provided opportunity to gather and hunt eggs in a safe and fun-filled event.

July 4th Cookout

On the Sunday on or before July 4th, the church gathers after the morning worship service at a nearby picnic facility for an old-fashioned cookout celebrating our country's independence day. After a great meal, we observe what our freedom means through music and reflections offered by various participants.

Trunk or Treat

To provide a safe way to trick or treat for our children, members and friends are invited to decorate their vehicles and stock them with goodies at Halloween. The children go to each vehicle loading up on the favorite treats.

Joint Services

First Baptist Church, Mount Airy, has a tradition of periodically holding evening services with other churches in the community. It allows a wonderful opportunity for friends to gather and grow in their common bonds of worship.
