Discipleship-Youth Ministry

Welcome to the youth page of FBC Mount Airy! We are in the process of planning a wonderful present and future for the young people of our church family and the greater Mount Airy community. As we progress, please consult this page for important information. We want to build a strong community and family that will seek to grow in our relationships with God and with each other, all the while looking for ways to serve and meet needs that may be out there. If this intrigues you, come on out!

Live the Questions

Last year's spring retreat at Caswell focused on prayer.  As part of the weekend, I met individually with each youth and asked a simple question, "What can I pray about for you?"  I was astonished by the breadth and depth of responses.  I came away with a few thoughts:

1.  Our youth are amazing young adults who deal with a lot on a daily basis.

2.  The simple act of asking a question can result in beautiful honesty and pure answers.

3.  We all need to ask more questions.

And with that, our 2015/2016 theme was born: Live the Questions!

This year, we will examine questions asked in the Bible by our faith ancestors, we will ask each other questions, and we will examine our own questions about the Bible, God, and our faith.  We will also explore how God responds to our questions and the questions God may be asking us.  In the end, while not all of our questions have quick and easy answers, each question is important to ask and ponder.  Join us this year as we ask, seek, and live our questions!
