Emmanuel Sunday School Class

We have 42 members on roll with 20-25 members present each Sunday. The ages of our members span from 40+ to 60+. We are a co-ed class with both single and married people. Some of our members have children and some do not. Because of our diversity in age and other characteristics, we feel that we are a perfect class for anyone looking for a place to belong. We do not have a class president but have three loyal and dedicated teachers that are jokingly referred to as The Three Kings. As a class and as individuals, we are actively involved in ministry within our church and outside the church. Some of these mission activities include: Friends Feeding Friends, the Bereavement Committee-when called upon for food, etc.-Shepherd's House, and Surry Medical Ministries. We are also involved with youth activities. Our major project each November is the Joanne Jordan Thanksgiving Meal ministry that has been headed by Woody Jordan since the ministry began a number of years ago. This ministry reaches well outside our church to the entire community. We attempt to feed a full Thanksgiving meal to everyone that we learn about that needs assistance. We receive financial help from members and classes within our church as well as other churches and individuals helping with delivering these meals. We manage to have at least one or two class get togethers each year for fellowship and class socials. We keep in touch with our members weekly through e-mails with updates, prayer requests, and other information when pertinent. We also make phone calls when needed. Three well-prepared teachers and a warm and friendly fellowship, where differences in opinion can be shared in a spirit of love, is what makes our class special. We invite everyone- visitors and newcomers to join us!
