Dorcas-Electa Sunday School Class

This class has recently combined the previously separate Dorcas and Electa Sunday School classes. Below are the two individual, previous descriptions of each.

Dorcas Sunday School Class

Our class has 15 active members and 10 inactive members. We range in ages from 75 to 85 plus. Those of us who are able are actively involved with Yokefellow, Surry Baptist Association, Friends Feeding Friends, the Food Harvest of North Carolina and other groups. Weekly, we make about 10 phones, 15 visits, and are known for sending lots of cards to shut-ins (between 50 and 60 each month) to those we can think of that need a card to cheer them up and to let them know they are loved. We welcome new members and believe we have a great deal to offer because of our faithfulness in caring for each other; and because we have super, well-prepared, dedicated, and loving teachers to help keep us focused.

Electa Sunday School Class

We are a faithful and dedicated group of four ladies whose ages begin at 80. One of our members is 91 and another is 98. Each one of us arrives on Sundays early, ready for fellowship and Bible study. We look forward each Sunday morning to hearing our loyal and well-prepared teacher teach us the word of God from the Bible and our Sunday School quarterly. Our class keeps in touch with one another through cards and phone class, which is our time to catch up on how others are feeling and to let them know we love them and are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers. We invite others to join us each Sunday for fellowship and Bible study. We also enjoy having church members drop by to chat with us before class. Hope to see you each Sunday!
